What is it with all these celebrities becoming plastic Barbie dolls? Now I love Barbie – But do I want to look like her plastic fantastic self? No. Barbie is a fake plastic doll. She is not human and we were not designed to actually look like her. I flick through a magazine now and all I’m seeing is blonde girls in need of a good meal, with big boobs and airbrushed within an inch of their life – literally! It’s actually getting quite boring. Don’t these people get that you would stand out more not looking like what everyone else thinks is perfect. Personally, I actually like flaws. It shows you’re real. Just be yourself!
Having jumped on my high horse for a bit of fun, I am in fact not against plastic surgery. Sure, I wouldn’t contemplate it at the moment but maybe someday. I am a firm believer in doing things that make you happy. If a bit of a nip and tuck, lift and snip is going to make you happy then I say go for it. Just don’t go to far. Remember that the places you go to improve yourself are businesses that want to make money. They will manipulate you into thinking you need more work done – You would look fantastic with an eyebrow lift, chin implant and trout pout on top of the Botox and fillers you were originally getting. You need to be strong and know what you want. Don’t let them make you feel like you aren’t beautiful – because you are!
So, as my favourite drag queen, RuPaul says – ‘If you don’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an Amen!’
RuPaul = Fabulous!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Today is St. Patrick’s Day – But who knows what this actually means?
It is a holiday that falls on the 17th of March each year. It began as a Christian holiday observed by the Irish to commemorate Saint Patrick the patron saint of Ireland and a celebration of Ireland’s culture. It is now recognised around the world. Ireland have a public holiday so they can celebrate all day and the rest us have to try to catch up with them after work. This might be a blessing in disguise as the Irish have stamina. I’m not so sure about the rest of us!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I will be thinking of my Uncle and cousins in Ireland this evening and I am also looking forward to seeing everyone get their Irish on during today’s celebrations. I am sure the wearing of the green will be out in force – green clothing, green ribbons and shamrocks, green leprechauns and even green beer, guinness and cider!

I love it when a person glides past you and leaves you wondering what perfume they were wearing? I also love it when a person has the same particular scent all the time and if I smell something similar it reminds me of that person. I used to have this. It was ‘Hot Couture’ by Givenchy. Wherever I went everyone would comment and compliment me on how nice my perfume was. Alas, I ran out and picked up another bottle only to find that it’s a little different, doesn’t last as long and is not as strong. You get used to all these compliments and then they just disappear. So my search is back on to find my signature scent. The fragrance that everyone will know belongs to me.
When I was younger I used to wear ‘Charlie Silver’ and ‘Angel’. How original! I didn’t really like Angel that much, everyone else did so I thought I should like it too! Talk about a trend-setter in my earlier days! I then started experimenting with different scents and have now found ‘Her, Just Cavalli’ by Roberto Cavalli. I absolutely love it but am not sure how it smells on me. I think it smells better on other people so that makes me think that this is not meant to be my signature scent. I don’t think it lasts for very long, however I know that if you can’t smell it on yourself throughout the day it means that the scent is supposed to really suit you. But how can I tell that is suits me if I can’t tell if it is actually lasting throughout the day? Sometimes when I am wearing it, I randomly ask the person I am with at the time if they can smell my perfume. I’m not convinced they can though. I know you should always put it on at least 20 minutes before you leave home, but I am usually running late and am lucky to give it 2 minutes to sink into my skin. This might be why I think it doesn’t last.
My Signature Scent
I borrowed a spritz of a work mates vanilla scented perfume from Forever New the other day. It was only $12 and seemed to last most of the day. It was beautiful – but how can my signature scent be someone elses? I need to discover a fragrance that no one else is wearing at the moment. Maybe I should just become a celebrity and then I could create my own signature fragrance. I could call it something like Kirsten or K-Lo or even K-Doll! It would be brilliant and everyone would smell fabulous!
So while I wait to get my famous on, I decided to take a look at the perfume department in DJ’s the other day. I was on a serious mission to find my signature scent. (The fact I had no cash to spend did not deter me.) I sprayed countless little cards and even myself but found that I was just getting more and more confused. What card belonged to what perfume? This was until I stumbled across ‘DKNY Be Delicious – Green Apple’. Wow, divine – SOLD! Oh wait, it will be sold as soon as I get paid! It is a fresh, green apple, summery and fruity scent. It has a great shaped bottle that is a handy size to carry in your handbag. I can’t wait to start splashing this on! Hopefully I have found my new signature scent to replace my beloved ‘Hot Couture’.
In my search I also came across a site called ‘Bottled up Emotions’ where you can customize your own fragrance. I think I will also try this just in case my new fragrance isn’t meant to be. The prices seem quite cheap and you can pick your favourite scents to create your very own one-of-a-kind signature fragrance.

A friend of mine used to work in Box Hill and introduced me to this amazing shoe shop a couple of years ago. I thought I would pass on this little discovery to the rest of you. There is a little shoe shop located in Box Hill called L & L Shoes. Heard of it? If you have stumbled across this place before you will understand that this place is a shoe shoppers delight.
The shop doesn’t look like much from the outside, but when you walk in you can see it is jam-packed with heels, pumps, platforms, sandals, flats from brands like Tony Bianco, Therapy, RMK and even Doc Martins etc. The list is endless and equally fabulous!
I have purchased many shoes in my time. Some of them my husband knows about and some of them I hope he doesn’t know about! I have found some amazing bargains and quite a few ‘what was I thinking??’ moments. I am an impulse buyer and can’t help myself. If I have to have something – I have to have it NOW and then regret it later!
I have never had a moment I’d rather forget at L & L shoes and find they stock great quality and affordable shoes. The last pair from here that I was lucky enough to have purchased for me by my best friend were bridesmaids shoes for her wedding. Extremely proud to be head bridesmaid and very excited to wear these shoes. They are ba-na-nas! (I just hope I don’t fall over!) They are by Therapy and were only $50! Yes, only $50! The Therapy website where you can buy them directly were $70. Bargain – check!
Bridesmaids Shoes - Therapy
I absolutely love a bargain and you will definitely find one (or three) here. Shoe shopping is the best shopping and will always make you feel a million bucks. A shoe will always fit no matter what sort of day you are having. So – check it out!

A nude lip is my never-fail makeup must have! This shade goes with everything. Nude lips look amazing when you have vamped up your eyes – but never wear too much makeup on your eyes and lips together or you can look like a hooker!
Look I love - Nude Lips
The nude lip also works for a more natural look. If nothing else, I always leave the house with a glossy nude lip – and concealer of course! I have hundreds (no joke!) of glosses and lipsticks and have been searching for the perfect nude shade for years. I also like to mix it up with a hint of colour when I’m wearing a natural look.
Here are my favourites that I have discovered so far:

I have this conversation all the time and I have to say that I much prefer the look of a gloss lipstick. If I wear a matte lipstick, I always top it up with a bit of gloss. What can I say I love to shine!
Lipstick: To Gloss or To Matte?
I always start by conditioning my lips. Try putting on some lip balm (Lucas’ Papaw Ointment) and massaging a toothbrush into your lips. This exfoliates your pout and leaves your lips smooth and ready for your lipstick. There is nothing worse than lipstick on cracked lips! I then apply a lip primer to help with a smooth and lasting application (MAC Prep and Prime). I then line my lips with lip liner (same colour as lipstick – NEVER darker). A lip liner is a great tool to define your lips and outline their shape. It also helps your lipstick stay put. Then using a lip brush I apply my lipstick and then my gloss. Leave the gloss alone if you want a matte look.
I Heart Lipstick
As you are probably aware, I love bold jewellery that makes a statement. As soon as I put on a statement ring I feel just a little bit glamorous. Unlike most other jewellery pieces you can admire a ring you are wearing anywhere, anytime. You don’t need a mirror to know that it looks fabulous! I’m even admiring my ring at the moment while I type. FYI – It’s the silver flower ring below:

Here is my current list of rings I am thinking about – which usually means I am going to buy them!
My Ring Wish-List
As Beyoncé would say – If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it! So put a ring on it!
