Photoshop Me!

I have been playing around with photos of myself on my iPhone over the weekend. I am now obsessed with FaceFinish, iQuikSplash and PS Mobile.
These apps on iTunes beautify, colourfy and are totally fun!

The photo quality is a little lost in translation, but check these out:

I also had a play with photos of my friends and will post these once I get their permission!

My Makeup Case

So I finally bought a makeup/beauty case. One word – Obsessed! I don’t know what I did without it for so long. I was looking at the cases online and loved them, but just couldn’t wait for it to be shipped to me.

I decided to get my Makeup case from Inglot. I absolutely love it! My husband came shopping with me when I bought it (shocking, i know!). He couldn’t understand why I was so excited and why I was spending so much money on a makeup case. He was shocked by how much it was and when they threw in a free Inglot hand and nail cream and lip gloss he thought that that was the least they could do. I explained to him that this was the price. It was my choice whether I wanted to buy it or not, so it was very nice of them to throw in these free gifts – they certainly didn’t have to – and I really love them!

I actually didn’t think it was outrageously expensive. I explained to my husband that you can spend a lot more in other makeup stores on lower quality brands and lower quality cases. I justified my purchase by confirming that all my makeup would have one spot and wouldn’t be spread around our room and bathroom. He wouldn’t have to worry about all my beauty products crowding every last available bench, shelf and draw space.

What is it:
Inglot Medium Makeup Case

How much:
A$150.00

What’s in it:
I did a huge makeup clean out and put the rest into my case. My brushes/tools, brush cleaner, makeup wipes/remover, cotton tips, makeup pads, false eyelashes, foundation and powders are all in the bottom of the case.
The six other trays are filled with, lipsticks, glosses, lip pencils, blush, bronzer, highlighters, luminators, concealers, eyeshadows/shimmers/dust, eyeliners/pencils, brow pencils and mascaras – phew! It all fits perfectly!

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

My skin is quite dry, so I am always on the look out for great products for my skin type.

I have been using DermaVeen Moisturising Cream for dry, itchy or sensitive skin. Not only is it really affordable, it is also really gentle and deeply hydrating. This moisturising cream is made by people with dry, itchy and sensitive skin. They know what people with this skin type are looking for.

I use it morning and night and before I put on my makeup. It is a great base before makeup application and doesn’t make your skin look or feel oily.

100g – A$8.99
200g – A$15.99

Available at most Chemists.

Beauty Tip #48: Recover dull skin

If you notice that your skin looks dull and lifeless, apply a gentle exfoliater. You’ll see how quickly your skin recovers its luminosity. Use a gentle exfoliator – if it’s not, your skin will get red and you’ll have to wait at least half an hour before you can apply your makeup. Wait a few minutes and then moisturise before doing your makeup.

Beauty Tip #213: What Cold Sore?

At the first sign of a cold sore, dip a cotton tip in some acetone based nail polish remover and apply directly to your cold sore.
Apply every hour and make sure to use a new cotton tip each time you dip it in the nail polish remover to avoid contamination. The key here is starting this process as early as possible.
Try not to lick your lips or get it wet – cold sores thrive on the moisture. It will sting (a lot!) when you are applying the nail polish remover, but it is the fastest and most effective way of getting rid of it.
Slap on a some cold sore cream after the nail polish remover for added protection. Your cold sore should be long gone within 24 hours.
