My Sunday Funday

I had an excellent shopping day yesterday. I actually had an excellent weekend overall.

Saturday started with a lovely sleep-in. My husband didn’t even wake me up like he usually does which was amazing and unbelievable. He never sleeps in. He usually comes in and out of our room and slams the door shut all morning. He sometimes accidently lets the dogs in who will jump on me while I’m trying to sleep or he will just try to have a chat. Saturday mornings are sleep time for me. This is the time for catching up on all the sleep I missed out on during the week because I unfortunately have to work to be able to live and also because of Underbelly, Gossip Girl, Project Runway and Top Model which keep me up till all hours during the week. I need my sleep in to recharge and to be able to function again and of course have enough energy to go shopping!

So I caught up on a little bit of housework and washing on Saturday. I know, not very fabulous, but these things must be done. I then headed down to L & L Shoes late that afternoon. I have been thinking about these shoes I saw in there a few months ago and just couldn’t get them out of my head. So I decided the only way to stop thinking about them was to just go down there and buy them. Imagine my devastation when the straps dug in to my toes. Now, I am all about fashion is pain but these were ridiculous. I walked around the rest of the shop for ages but couldn’t find anything else I liked. I hate it when I have money burning a hole in my pocket and my shopping habit was seriously annoyed. The shops had now closed and I hadn’t bought anything!

I was meeting my friends for dumplings and pumpkin cakes at David & Camy’s (amazing!) on Station Street in Box Hill for an early dinner, so I was obviously fabulously late, sorry! The food was fantastic and so was the company. Afterward, I went on to a friend’s birthday.

I woke up Sunday morning still feeling vaguely disappointed with my devastating shopping trip on Saturday. I got up and looked in the mirror and decided that my eyebrows seriously needed urgent attention. So I decided to finally pay a visit to the Benefit Brow Bar in Myer at Chadstone. I was very excited for another days shopping and hopeful that it would be better than Saturday.

I got to the Benefit Cosmetics counter and they slid me straight in for a brow arch wax. I was a little embarrassed as my eyebrows were pretty messy and screaming for some grooming. Fiona gave me a hand-held mirror to watch the whole process and went through what would suit me, the thickness and where my brows should start, finish and arch. I was spot on except for the fact that the last time I had my eyebrows waxed, the girl had waxed one shorter than the other. Fiona fixed it all up and I will definitely be going back. After the waxing was done she applied some antiseptic cream and then re-applied my makeup for me. She put on some powder which toned down the redness. I’m lucky that I don’t get really red anyway. She also showed me a fantastic Benefit brow pencil (A$39) which glided on smoothly. I will definitely be purchasing this next time. She then applied Benefit High Brow (A$39) to my brow bone which really opened up my eyes. It was equally fantastic and has been definitely sold for next time. The Brow Arch wax was A$25. I did think that this was a little expensive but she really did do an amazing job. Next time I will get a lip wax (A$15) as well as a brow arch wax – together this is only A$35. I also received a loyalty card which gives you a free brow arch wax after 8 services.

Seeing as I was at Chadstone anyway, I had to drop in at OPI in DJ’s. I bought La Paz-itively Hot. It’s a hot pink colour and it is HOT!

Overall, a very productive weekend and a satisfying shopping trip.
I hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend!
